To all of you: THANK YOU!
This is not something that I could have done alone. I am grateful to each and every one of you, for supporting me, for taking a chance and endorsing me, for being there through this all.
From the trio of friends who helped me choose my "parent. coach. advocate" at the very beginning, to the friends, teachers and supporters who canvassed for me at the farmers market and beyond. To the Google-form-creating-friend who learned of my technology-ineptitude and just hugged me and helped me. To the button-making 3rd grader and her mom. To every.single.one.of.you. who put up a yard sign. To the friends who made the first donation and covered the first set of those very yard signs. To every one of you who donated time, money, effort. And to all of the organizations that took a chance and endorsed me, a no-name candidate who spoke of transparency and honesty, and always putting our students first.
To all of you who are raising the most incredible of kids, who are the reason I decided to run in the first place.
THANK YOU.
And to Rob G and Simone, who ran great races and, most importantly, kept things civil and honest. It was a pleasure getting to know them and I am sure they will stay involved to help get PPS where it needs to be.
But now the hard work starts. Now is when we collectively tear down walls, build bridges and nurture relationships.
And I will need you all to continue to help because this is going to be a community effort. So please plan on signing up for whatever newsletter system I create so you can both stay up to date with PPS stuff and also stay an active voice as we demand the State of Oregon to fully fund public education and make our schools the best out there. So we lift our students, our schools, and our communities up, together
I am so absolutely grateful to all of you. Thank you thank you thank you. Please stay in touch.
Many thanks -
Steph
