My mother was an elementary school teacher. My father-in-law was a special education teacher in Illinois. My mother-in-law was a gifted education teacher in Illinois. My friends are teachers. My neighbors are teachers. I SUPPORT TEACHERS. And when PPS teachers went on strike, my kids and I were on the picket line almost daily.  

I believe supporting teachers means (among other things):

** listening to what they need

** paying them well

** capping class sizes

** giving them strong leadership who respects and supports them
